Bellator middleweight champion Hector Lombard has wasted little time in requesting a fight against Nate Marquardt.
The UFC released Marquardt, a former title challenger, after he was not cleared to fight at UFC Live 4 on June 26 due to elevated testosterone levels. Bellator is reportedly interested in signing him.

Hector wants this fight bad and calling Nate a cheater and claiming that he can whoop his behind anyday will surely get Nates attention. I think Bellator is a good fit for Nate at the moment I mean he could go to Dream also but Bellator just seems right for Nate to fight for. And with this challenge from Hector being put out there why not go in possibly beat Hector become the champ get a couple more wimns and then have a genuine claim for returning to the UFC. But this all depends on what Nate decides to do hopefully the fight with Hector happens though cause it's a great matchup stylewise and I reckon Hector could pull an upset. We'll just have to wait and see what happens with Nate and if this fight will ever happen.

Nate won't beat Hector. And Hector beating him wouldn't be an upset.
"Book it."

I think this will be a good fight. Hector hasnt fought half the talent Marquardt has. Should be interesting. I think Hector will beat Nate and prove he can hang.

Tough Pick I might lean Nate just a little...For the mere fact I think Lombard is due for a loss and he hasnt face near the talent as Nate...Very close too close to call..

make Nate earn the shot at Lombard, or I don't think Nate will perform up to his potential. Also he may need to adjust to mw again, and putting Nate in the tournament should help Nate get back to fighting well. Nate should have beaten Okami i think

Calling him out won't do anything Bellator always has non title matches for their champs for outside tourney winners Put the belt on the line Shouldn't matter if you don't have a contract with bellator or not If you face a champ belt should be on the line every time not just for their Tournament winners
Cole konrad vs buentello. Put the belt on the line!!!

I love this fight. Nate would give Lombard a run for his money. I still am leaning towards Lombard though.

Every future star has to start from somewhere. For all we know Lombard could run through Marquardt and end up fighting for the title in the UFC here in the next few years. Just because some guys outside the UFC aren't beating the best competition, doesn't mean they can't if given the opportunity.

Wow I really like theis idea!! I hope Belator can make it happen. Only thing is .....isn't the PSAC going after Nate?? I would really like to see if Hector can live up to his hype. Dude has power that could stop a Mac truck .....but he has never faced a fighter with the skills or expierience that Nate has.

Lombard is a stocky brawler with a fantastic base.
Marquardt is a taller, yet still stocky bruiser with a longer reach and a better gastank.
I think Lombard is going to have a terribly tough time getting inside without taking critical damage. Very hard match-up for him to win IMO.
