The cluttered UFC lightweight division is a brutal place to work following the integration of the WEC roster, and inevitably there will be cuts based on performance and results.
The latest lightweight to have been released is British Rough House fighter Andre Winner who exits the promotion following his loss to Anthony Njokuani at UFC 132 – it marks his third in a row.

No surprise here. Maybe some time away will help him recoup his form.

Not surprising at all, I just don't understand this kid though. He has so much potential and every time he fights it just seems like he doesn't improve. Hopefully he can pull himself together.

He's fought some tough dudes. A few wins outside of Zuffa and he'll definitely be back for another run.

I was guilty of overestimating his abilities. I am pleased (from a purely betting standpoint, of course).

Same here. On several occasions I picked him and every time I was wrong.

I would like to thank Winner for not going unconscious in the first round of the Njokuani fight. He showed a lot of heart, a decent chin, and earned me 11 points with that one-sided UD loss.
In all seriousness though, you gotta feel for anyone who gets cut from the UFC. I've never been fired from a job before, but if I had been, I am sure it would suck. The economy is rough these days, not just in the States! Hopefully he can get some wins outside of the UFC and make his way back.

No surprises here. He could make a nice addition to Shark Fight's roster, though.

it is rough getting cut, especially since the ufc keeps buying up other potential job opportunities for these guys. There is always Bellator for the time being. I have a feeling with a few wins in a row, he'll get another shot with zuffa
