Former Sengoku World Victory Road champion Hatsu Hioki will make his U.S. debut on Oct. 29.
UFC officials today announced that the Japanese superstar will face scrappy veteran George Roop at UFC 137.
Featuring a pay-per-view headliner between UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre and former Strikeforce titleholder Nick Diaz, UFC 137 takes place at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas.

I can't wait for this card, exciting fights so far. GSP v DIAZ should turn out to be competitive tho I see GSP by UD. We'll have to wait and see if the octagon jitters get to the former sengoku champ

I think this is a good first test for Hioki. Roop has been on a roll lately and should make the fight competitive.

Solid match making here. I expect Hioki to win but I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Roop use the same gameplan as his last fight and be successful.

Good fight hope its a spike prelim and not main card bout I can see roop pulling a upset. But if hioki wins I think he may be one more fight away from title shot
