Of all the targets at which Chael Sonnen (25-11-1 MMA, 4-4 UFC) has aimed, the toughest one may be ahead.
Not long after a bout with Lyoto Machida was nixed, sources today told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) that the onetime middleweight contender will stay in his division and is targeted for a meeting with Brian Stann (11-3 MMA, 5-2 UFC) at UFC 136, which takes place Oct. 8 at Toyota Center in Houston.
Verbal agreements are in place for the bout, though contracts haven't been signed.

I hope we see something along the lines of Henderson vs. Bisping. Sonnen thrash talking every minute leading up to fight and Stann causing him to have his jaw wired shut.

Hopefully he doesn't overdo the trash talk with Stann, Monson has recently started saying that stann and other marines are "brainwashed by military" and reaction has obviously been largely negative. Chael better avoid stepping in **it

Can't see how Chael beats Stann unless he takes him down and G&P's him. But I think Stann can stuff the takedown attempts of Sonnen and finish him off standing.

I think people are going to be very surprised when Sonnen doesn't talk trash before the fight. Let's be honest Cheal doesn't always talk crap, look at when he fought Okami or Miller. I doubt he talks crap to maybe the only fighter in MMA who's more proud to be an american lol. I Actually expect a calm and collected Sonnen. Had this been Lyoto tho then the trash talker we all know and love would be present.
