After an X-ray showed no broken bones in his hands, Brian Bowles is now campaigning for a shot to reclaim a belt.

The former WEC bantamweight champion scored a decision victory over Takeya Mizugaki this past weekend at UFC 132.

Now, he wants to avenge his only career defeat, which came to current UFC 135-pound champion Dominick Cruz back in early 2010.

"Hand is good," Bowles tweeted on Tuesday night. "I want that title shot, I feel I deserve it, and I'm next in line."

Bowles seems like a good fit for a title fight with Cruz and he probably wants redemption for his loss to Cruz last year. But there are other guys that could be in line like Demetrious Johnson who's coming off 4 straight wins and looked impressive against Torres but suffered a broken leg in that fight so who knows if he'll be able to get back in form in time. But yeah Bowles is injury free and the fight makes sense at this point. Bowles is very dangerous and anything could happen if they fight again but I reckon Cruz takes the win again by decision.

I think if he is injury free he is next. DJ might be out for a little with the leg injury, but when he gets back he would be next.

I really like this kid, but I worry about his hands getting damaged in every fight.

It might be how he throws his punches. Hopefully it's something he can fix. Breaking your hand every other fight is not good.

Yeah, good luck with that. His boss already said DJ is ahead of him. Maybe he's just frustrated, but this is a weird way to campaign for a title shot.
