Knocked out in 27 seconds? For shame.

Wanderlei Silva is feeling it, too, a couple days removed from his stunning knockout loss at the hands of Chris Leben at UFC 132 on July 2 in Las Vegas. He admits as much on his Twitter (via Tatame):

"I cried, I thought a lot of ****, and now I'm ashamed and only think in one thing now: I want a rematch."

As a long time competitor in sports, I understand it is difficult to deal with a loss in which you think you should have won, but there should be no rematch for this fight.

Is Leben the better fighter? I don't know...

Did Leben clearly won the fight? Yes..

Sorry, Axe Murderer - you need to take your losses like everyone else.

I love Wandy but that he simply can't take it anymore. Leben would beat him again anyways and I dont even think Leben would want to do that anyways.

I was very surprised by that fight.. But if wandy wants a rematch he needs to rack up some wins over other guys first.

Poor Wanderlei. He shouldn't be ashamed, I know I'm not ashamed of him and I doubt any of his other fans are. It's got to be hard, from running through fools like he did in Pride to losing his belt right before the promotion folded and never gaining that momentum back.

I don't know if they should do a rematch. I don't know if Wanderlei should fight again, in my opinion. However, I do think a rematch with Chris Leben has the potential to go the right way for Wandy more so than that rematch with Vitor Belfort that Wanderlei was campaigning for. I really don't think either would go his way, maybe like a 10% chance of beating Leben, maybe 5% chance of beating Vitor.

Just like Chuck, Randy, and Jens (please retire), his legacy will not be defined by his last fights, but what he did to build the sport and what a legend he is and was.

I thought Wandy would come out more patience, but did the windmill and that cost him.

No need for a rematch.

if it was a close fight, SD, or controversial UD, then a rematch wouldn't be too much to ask for.

getting KTFO'd in 27 seconds however......

i like wandy and im sure he would do better in a rematch, but i dont think he has what it takes to stand with leben anymore. He should retire a legend now before he turns into another chuck

wanderlei brain has had it hes one of my heros but i dont want to see him get damaged when you get alot of head shots then late in life you get KO'd your brain has a natural reaction to evade getting damaged more by switching off faster.

and to quote the other guy
Is leban a better fighter? Who knows?
but did he win that fight? YES!

not to discredit chris but...
...that punch could have come frome anyone and maybe KOd him
maybe maybe not

my opinion...

Wandy should fight someone other than Leben at this point. And it's up to him if he feels he can still compete in mma than he should continue. But after his brutal loss to Leben maybe he should call it quits but who knows he may pull a Tito on us and in his next fight knockout Akiyama, Stann, Belcher or whoever he fights next. Hope he plays it smart though cause noone wants to see a guy turn out bad or really damaged for the rest of his life.

Wanderlei would not win the rematch because Leben's chin is infinitely stronger than his at this point.

Put him in there with Akiyama after he loses to Belfort.

Someone get Wanderlei a whaaburger and some french cries. Leben destroyed you. Take it like a man and move on.

On a side note, is Wanderlei still above fighting Brian Stann?

I think for the most part that is true and it will be more true for the future. But with the guys you named specifically a lot of fans weren't around for their glory days.

They only remember being told how good these guys were and then seeing them get knocked out over and over. That leads them to call them overrated and assume they were never that great to begin with.

Obviously untrue and very sad, but reality often is.

He seriously wants a rematch. He got KO'd.....get out of here with that. That guy should either be cut, or he should no longer be able to pick his fights
