A source at Spike, speaking on the condition of anonymity, indicated that the company has essentially abandoned any notion of a new deal with the UFC, since it believes the UFC is "very close to a deal with G4."
"They want their own channel, and this is an opportunity for their own channel," the source said.
As for the Spike counter programming moves, it's "pretty obvious why we're doing what we're doing," the source said, but it hasn't resulted in any animosity between UFC and Spike employees.
"We're all just doing our jobs," said the source.

should have seen UFCtv coming at some point. They will entirely change G4 into UFCtv. Spike was just the springboard

This is the big question. What will happen to G4 shows. Granted the channel has come to crap, but their would still be a little worth salvaging.

Yeah! I love that show. Plus, Jason Miller competed on it, so they have no choice but to keep it Anyway... didn't UFC pretty much put Spike tv on the map?? Without the UFC they'd still be TNN

I don't. I'll pirate the crap out of UFC programming if they do switch.

SPIKE was doing pretty well when the UFC signed on, they were mostly using Wrestling and CSI re-runs to get ratings though.
Since then they've started making a lot of their own shows and ratings wise they do better than TUF or any of the Fight night cards they air.
The highest rated program they've ever aired was a Jesse James show not a UFC production. So I doubt they will disappear without UFC programming.
I hope moving to G4 means more events to fill time on the channel, and it would be nice if they also gave a TV Venue to other Orgs. (Probably wont Happen) Anything that gets more MMA on TV is a plus in my mind, but I worry that all we'll get is a channel that loops UFC unleashed and UFC Primetime shows 24/7 until an event is happenning they can show live.

Funny that you mention CSI. I still remember reading about someone from Spike getting canned over that show. CSI was pulling in good numbers, but the majority of the viewers were female.

I think that's exactly what will be shown. Maybe the occasional replay of an old UFN, TUF Finale or an older PPV.
