I know that Pettis just lost to Guida, and Guillard is most likely a little higher up when it comes to rankings in the division, but still. Imagine these two fighting...

Pettis is on a two fight losing streak and Guillard is on a big winning streak. Stylistically it would be a good fight to see but it just doesn't make sense for it to happen.

Which is why Stout would make sense if they don't want to have Guillard face Guida.
Guillard has won 5 of his last 5 including Stephens, Dunham, and Roller Stout has won 4 of his last 5 including Wiman, Lauzon, Yves
Stout's only loss in the last 5 was by SD to Stephens. Guillard beat Stephens by SD. Both want to stand and bang.
Sounds like a recipe for success and they're at the same rung on the ladder.

Pettis hasn't lost two in a row, he is coming off the Guida loss. And before that, he defeated Ben Henderson to become the last WEC Lightweight Champion.

If this were to happen, I would take Guillard via round 1 steamroller. Most people will naturally think that Pettis should have the striking edge, but I feel that it's pretty overrated.

IMO they're nowhere near the same level in the title hunt. Stout is an impressive and entertaining fighter, but four out of five wins is deceiving. His opponents were nowhere near the same quality as Guillard's opponents. In fact, just the Dunham win is more impressive than all of Stout's last opponents. The fight just doesn't make sense for Guillard.

The only other option that I see is Guida so Guillard would have to back off of his stance of not fighting a teammate when it's not for a title. Unless you are thinking of someone else he could face that would be a better opponent than Guida or Stout ?

Guillard vs Henderson/Miller Pettis vs Anthony Njokuani
EDIT: As people have said, Pettis vs Guillard seems like a great option too
