Nate Marquardt remains on suspension from the state of Pennsylvania after failing to receive medical clearance prior to the weekend's UFC on Versus event. In the aftermath of the shocking development, which included Marquardt's firing from the promotion, many questions have arisen.
Which part of the medical review did Marquardt fail to clear? How did six weeks go by without a resolution? And how did Pennsylvania suspend Marquardt when it appeared he'd never been licensed in the first place?
While most of the situation is still shrouded in mystery, at least one of those questions can be answered.

I've heard people say it was "testosterone therapy"
I don't know what that is but it def doesn't sound legal.

Maybe he didn't fail because he didn't take the test... Can't fail if you refuse to submit a sample. whatever it is I am not to antsy about finding out. It would have been interesting to see what he could have done at WW. Maybe one day he will be able to make it back.

Lets play Sherlock Holmes for a minute. We know Marquardt: 1. Didn't fail a drug test 2. had 6 weeks to resolve a medical issue
I can assume it would be some time of infectious disease that could have been cleared up with medical treatment, but was severe enough to prevent him from being able to compete. It couldn't be Hepatitis C, because there is no cure for that and would keep him from fighting ever again. It's not HIV/Aids, for the same reason as above. It's unlikely that it's a staph infection as those are fairly common in this sport and no reason to keep it secret.
.... well I'm stumped. Guess i'm not as smart as Sherlock Holmes because I can't figure it out

After some research I've learned that Hepatitis CAN be cured but requires 48 weeks of intense treatment and is only successful about 50% of the time. Still disqualifies it as a possibility because Nate wouldn't have been able to fix it in under 6 weeks.

I'm listening to Marquardt on The MMA Hour and I'm confused... Can anyone shed some light on what the hell Nate is saying?
