a tournament would take too long and leave the title undefended for another year, i like what someone said about making a speedy tourny like Bellator, to be totally complete in under 3 months, highly unlikely that the UFC would do it that fast.
Bj vs Melendez
Melvin vs Wiman
Guida vs Bendo
G sot vs Evan Dunham
Miller vs Sherk
Siver vs Pettis
Stevens(or Mavidal?) vs Lentz
Diaz vs Gomi
My 8 fights would pit theses fighters again\st eachother, and even mixeing them up would still be good, I think Miller-is most deserving, and Melendez after, and Bj should be in the mix, hes the best lw ever, and he is more likely to win a lw title over most lw's, than he would trying to win the ww, belt(same goes for everyone at ww, cept Silva)

Except who knows where Sherk is. Dunham, I didn't include him b/c of the back to back losses.
And Wiman is currently scheduled to face Siver, so he should prolly be included.
Need to put Cerrone in there!!

once el nino destroys masvidal theres no one left there so he fights frankie, beats him in the second round and is finally rightfully known as the number one lightweight in the world

Yeah, could prolly replace Tibau w/ Cerrone, but Tibau has beaten some of the guys I picked. I still believe he beat Guillard.

All of this "add him and replace him" stuff is why it wont work out in the situation the UFC is currently in. I believe the solution is simply have Maynard and Edgar finish their competition and have the line start moving. There are 3-4 guys who are ready for the title shot or really close to it, Miller is the most obvious pick for #1 contender.....a lot of those other guys mentioned could be paired up to determine the next one or two guys in line which would definatley free up the traffic jam in the division. Guys going for the gold are going to want 3-4 months of preperation and a lot can be determined in that time.
