After one of the most active stretches of her seven-year career, women’s pound-for-pounder Megumi Fujii has thus far remained dormant in 2011. That will change on July 9, officials from Japanese all-female organization Jewels announced Wednesday, when “Mega Megu” rematches promotional poster girl Mika Nagano at Shinjuku Face in Tokyo.
Speaking with Sherdog.com, Fujii confirmed that she recently received the go-ahead to compete at Jewels’ “15th Ring” from Bellator Fighting Championships, the Chicago-based promotion for whom she fought four times in 2010 and remains under contract.
