DALLAS – Strangely enough, one of the biggest winners of Saturday night's "Strikeforce: Overeem vs. Werdum" event might have been a heavyweight that didn't even step in the cage.

By virtue of a rather lackluster Alistair Overeem victory over Fabricio Werdum, Brazilian behemoth Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva (16-2 MMA, 3-1 SF) may now be considered a favorite to win Strikeforce's heavyweight grand prix.

Of course, if you listen to Silva, a potential new role as the man to beat isn't a possibility – it's a guarantee.

Been wishing that since the start.

I still think Overeem will beat Silva.

I agree with both statements. I would not be surprised if Overeem beat Bigfoot. A Kharitonov-Overeem rubber match for the Grand Prix title would be nice.

Of the four fighters left in the tournament, two have popped positive for steroids. Definitely not rooting for those guys. Kharitonov takes it all!

I also hope that Kharitonov takes the title. With all the hype surrounding the rest of the cast of characters in this tourney, it would bee nice to see a dark horse win it all (not to mention that doesn't open up his yapper at every waking moment).

That would make for an awesome finals.

I can see any of them pulling it off to be honest, except Bigfoot.....everyone has a good shot against him because he tends to be reactive and let others dictate the fight......if he bangs too long with Sergei or Overeem I see him getting KOed or lossing a lopsided decision, if he goes on the ground too long with Barnett he will get subbed. I would love to see the rubber match between Sergei and Reem, for nostalgia's sake.....but I think it will end up being Barnett vs Overeem. After last night's performance Overeem better hope to not get a fight with Cain V.....he would get destroyed!!!!

I think Barnett is the favorite now because he obviously hasn't lost it like a lot of us thought. He absolutely toyed with Rogers and he's the only guy left capable of controlling where the fight takes place.

Barnett will take Kharatonov down and submit him in the 3rd round.

Overeem may not be able to finish Bigfoot but he will win a decision....it wasnt that long ago Werdum outstruck Silva

Overeem will knee KO Barnett to win the title

thats my predictions

uhh i dont see how Barnett will easily sub Bigfoot, let alone pull off a submission. you do realize Bigfoot has a good BJJ game right?

If by good you mean good for a large man, not good by the standards that other weight classes would deem neccessary for survival against a man like Barnett. Barnett has been a ground wizard for over a decade.....his ground game is light years ahead of Silva. I haven't seen anything from Silva that makes me think that he can hang with Barnett on the mat for more than 30 seconds. The only way I can fathom Bigfoot winning that fight is by TKO.....and Barnett doesn't have a glass chin.

I Know Alistair didnt look good against his first top 5 HW but Im not seeing how Bigfoot beats Alistair, he does everything slower, overall worse than Werdum except a better chin and more power.

Bigfoot gets stopped against Overeem

I think it will be Overeem v Barnett in the final. If overeem can keep it standing I see him winning by UD but if Barnett can take overeem down early and get in his head it could frustrate Overeem and Barnett will win by sub
