Shane Carwin showed a lot of heart against Dos Santos, but I think he was almost beat to death. This pictures says it all..

He definitely showed he has an epic chin, epic heart, and not bad cardio at all, just punched himself out vs Lesnar.

Sucks he's so old so he doesn't have much time left. Maybe match up with some up and comers before he has to hang them up. I'd love to see him destroy Brenden Scaub.

Man, it looks like someone dug his eye out with a spoon.

I think Carwins in a rough spot now. He's one of the best but there are a couple people out there that I just don't think he can beat. And at his age I don't know how much better he can get. But he showed a ton of heart against Santos. I can't wait for him to heal and get back in the cage.

i think he will turn into the guy you beat to earn a title shot. Not really a gate keeper but not a contender either.

I will never question Carwin's heart or determination.....but.....I still see him only as a glorified HW gatekeeper.

I picked JDS over Shane but during the fight I wanted Shane to land one so bad. Just like I help the wife brake sometimes, I was helping Carwin put one on Junior.

I am with a lot of you. I like Carwin a lot more after this fight. He showed heart and determination, something which cannot be learned.

He doesn't have a ton of fights left but I'd like to see him against Nelson if he's staying at HW.

I would love to see that fight next. Hell, I think it makes sense. Too bad Carwin is going to be on the shelf for awhile.

They never should have allowed that fight to continue. I still can't believe the doctor didn't stop it.

If toughness and one punch power (overrated power or not) gets you in the top 10 then maybe id put him in there but i dont see him having any success against another top 10 in his career, he's just too slow and lumbering, he maybe landed one or two shots on JDS and couldnt get him down even when he was fresh. Carwin has made a career of beating cans outside zuffa, cans inside zuffa and guys with no chins, i knew when he fought a guy like jds he'd be made to look amatuer. He's just not top 10 to me for beating just Mir.

And for however harsh that sounds, I tend to agree.

Also, call me crazy, but I think Mir would best him in a rematch.
