UFC lightweight contender Clay Guida, who didn't need to cut any weight for his Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 13 Finale fight against Anthony Pettis, tells the MMA Nation radio show (via Pro MMA Now) that he recognizes his size disadvantage within the promotion's stacked 155-pound division and may even consider a drop to featherweight -- after he wins the lightweight title

I had no idea he didn't cut weight. He could actually be a real force at 145. There aren't a lot of guys like him there.

He has the frame for 145.....a tad surprised that he didn't drop sooner.

He'll drop after he wins the Lightweight title? Guess we'll never see Guida at 145 then.

I like his odds against Edgar but if Maynard is the belt holder at the time of guida's shot than he probably won't be able to do anything.

Man I never knew Guida was walking around ABLE to drop weight. He never looked like he cut much but damn... at 145 he will be a monster! I think it would be a good move for him, and I can kinda see how he's paving the road for whether he wins or loses to have something to fall back on. Then it won't seem like he's dropping for any other reason than personal choice. Or I'm wrong :) Huge possibility there

Seriously he could do great things at 145, but i dont see him winning the LW title, so maybe he should just drop down now

Clay Guida is Jose Aldos kryptonite...He can take a punch sick cardio and would wrestle Aldo down and ground and pound..

I think he could be a champion at 145, but I don't think he'll ever be more than a gatekeeper at 55. I'd like to see him make this move.

If Guida is walking around 155, then dropping to 145 or 135 would be a good decision.
I will probably be flamed for saying this but at 145, I think he can take Aldo out of his elements and put him on the mat and grind out a decision win. His chin will help him close the distance and his animal fury will be too much for Aldo.
After seeing Hominick dominate Aldo in the late rounds, I think Guida will have more than a legitimate chance if and when he should get a title shot against Aldo.
Let the flames begin....

If hes gonna wait till after he has the title then he will never move... I just don't see Guida ever getting the title if he makes it to a title shot.

Gatekeeper? He's already a contender.

Guida is getting nowhere close to that title.
