It's almost "Showtime."
Reigning WEC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis will be making his much-anticipated UFC debut tomorrow night (June 4, 2011) against Clay Guida on The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 13 Finale.
The renowned Roufusport star has all eyes on him entering this fight and he's ready to give MMA fans a new memory, perhaps even better. He plans on making a big splash with a shot at the UFC title within his grasp.
Pettis was a guest on a special edition of Pro MMA Radio this week and he detailed the Edgar-Maynard situation, his infamous kick and, of course, his upcoming fight with Clay Guida.
Find out why he chose Guida for his UFC debut after the jump

I like Pettis, he's a cool dude. He makes some good points in the interview. I think him and Clay are going to go to war. Can't wait till the red raises Pettis' hand at the end. Pettis rd 2 via TKO

It's gonna be a war alright, but 2nd rd TKO, I don't think so. Guida has never been KO'd or TKO'd. It's going the distance. Pettis by split decision.

Yeah it will be a hell of a fight as any of Clay's or Pettis' is. But i see it going the distance if Pettis takes it, which I'd love to see. But you can never count out Clay's crazy cardio. Pettis by UD or Doctor stoppage

First time for everything. I think i said this in a different topic. but i think Pettis will pepper him with a ton of different legs kicks and kicks to the body and it will take toll on Clay.

I think the critical factor in this fight is the 3 round length.
I rank Guida's heart, tenacity, wrestling and conditioning on a similar level as Ben Henderson's. I mean that as a huge compliment, really, but it's more in that Pettis has fought someone relatively like this before and come out on top in a 5 round fight. Close? Most definitely, but he earned it.
How Pettis starts the fight is vital. Does he go out and make Guida react to him, defending the takedown and battering with strikes? Or does he wait for the counter only to be taken down repeatedly, with a valiant but too late comeback in the 3rd?
Looking forward to this one, for sure.

Pettis is great don't get me wrong, but I think Guida wants it more. I mean he actually lives "in a van down by the river" so he can focus 110% on training!

This is actually a very, very important part of the fight that seems to be going under the radar. Pettis has some incredible kicks ( even if you take away the "show-time kick" and Guida has a lot to deal with.
We saw Diego catch Guida a little too frequently with head kicks and im intrigued to see what he can do to stop the kicks that Pettis will present him with.
Ive been saying it for a long time not, Pettis is the future and I see him dominating Guida en route to a 2nd rd (t)ko
