Do we really need another wrestler in an already stacked lay and pray division ?? its bad enough with GSP, Kos, Fitch and the overrated Shields without having another fighter who likes to lie on top and control the entire fight
I
Overrated Shields? Everyone said he had no shot with GSP yet he was the first fighter to take a round from him since Serra knocked him out. Maybe you have a different definition of overrated.
He is overrated in my opinion,( To which i am entitled) he would not of won that round had he not poked GSP in the eye at least twice, He came to the UFC as Dana Whites world beater and in all honsety i think he would struggle against the likes of BJ, Fitch, Condit to name a few like he struggled to beat Kampmann
Didn't he beat Condit already?
yup, on the same night he beat Okami.

Nick Diaz, but Dana is afraid of that so he isnt making it happen, like the Anderson fight.
Anderson even offered to move down to 170...

I herd that aswell but idk if its true.
I really don't want to see that fight, A.Silva works well at 185 and gsp works well at 170, i dont think they would perform nearly as well out of there comfort zone. Yea I do know Silva did fight 170 before but there is a reason why he is now a 185 pounder that fought some 205 bouts.

He's came into MW title fights as low as 181 before. He's probably not cutting any water weight to fight at MW.
At 170 i'd expect him to be faster, & more devastating, but gas quicker since cutting water always hinders Cardio to at least some degree.

No one at 170 pounds stands out to beat GSP because all the stand up specialist ( like Hardy, Alves, ect.) can't handle the ground attack of GSP and all the guys with excellent grappling (like Fitch, Sheilds, Koscheck ect) can't hang with GSP on the feet. To me it's like whatever the guy is good at, he doesn't do. It's like going to someone's house with a checker board and then you get there and all of a sudden you're playing chess....and you suck at chess

If silva went welter he could beat gsp. He has better boxing, muay thai, and bigger then gsp. gsp usally sets his tds with combos and getting in on the inside, that would be extremely tough to do because of silva's level of striking. He strikes alot better then anyone gsp has ever faced.

but everyone with a brain knows Silva can't wrestle, look what sonnen did and GSP is 10 times better then Sonnen at everything

Relative to weight, it can be argued that Gsp it 10 times better than Sonnen overall, though its a stretch.
BUT! Sonnen would outwrestle Gsp if the two ever fought. Make no mistake about it.

I agree. People always say "gsp takesdown rashad" sonnen is much better at wrestling then rashad. He is also big enough and has enough to knowledge as a olympic level wrestler to not let gsp take him dow. Askren could out wrestle both in a pure wrestling match though. Trust me, when he wrestled Herbert at midlands I was in shock.
