April 29, 2007 -- Putting up a fight Giambi says UFC KO's boxing
Ultimate Fighting Championship has surpassed boxing in popularity, according to Jason Giambi.
"In Las Vegas it's bigger than boxing," Giambi told The Post's George King. "The attention for (boxing) hasn't been there for a long time. What (UFC) has done is develop good fighters in every weight class. A lot of times the undercard is better than the main event. You can go to the fights and see for four or five good bouts."
Giambi, a Las Vegas resident, attends UFC events when in town. Does Giambi have a favorite fighter?
"Tito Ortiz (left, top)," he said without hesitation.
