Wanderlei Silva is an icon in mixed martial arts. “The Axe Murderer” ruled the roost as the Pride middleweight champion in Japan. But even after Zuffa bought the venerable Japanese fight promotion and ultimately had to close its doors, Silva is as popular as ever.

He has struggled through his time in the Octagon. His record is just 2-3 in his latest stint in the UFC. Fans, however, forgive his losses because they simply love watching Wand fight. They don’t care if he holds a belt, or is rocketing up the rankings.

He’s well aware of that fact.

If either fighter lose by KO, I really think they should consider retiring, I doubt they will but just purely for the own health safety and wellbeing.

why?
Chris Leben has only been KO'd once and TKO'd once in fights.

And its not like wandy has been on a chuck lidell skid

leben still has lots left to give and silva has a few more moneymaker bouts left in him.

I wouldnt be too worried about either of them

Sure, Silva hasn't had consecutive knockouts like Liddell. But, all of his knockout losses have been DEVASTATING. These haven't just been quick shots to chin and he's down. Most of the knockouts have sent him to the mat out cold and motionless. I'd rather not see another case LIKE Liddell.

I don't want anybody becoming Chuck ever again, Leben's a brawler, against Akiyama he looked so out of it, He might not be showing it now, but we don't need him like Muhammad Ali when he's older. Wandy, exactly like FastKnockout said, when he goes out, he looks bad.

I oppose this as well....Leben is fine, while his chin may be a little dented from what it has been in the past, he can still do well in the sport for quite some time as he isn't that old and his chin definately isn't glass! Now Wand on the other hand I can understand....he is kind of older and he has suffered a few too many flash KOs for me ever since CC landed the infamous LHK in 06'. Besides Silva runs a successful gym and has a legacy that could never be replaced or tarnished!!

Ya... I can see Wandy. He's had a long career with a lot of wars and he's clearly past his prime.

But Leben?

Exactly. Leben is still young in this sport and has a lot left he could do. He's not going to lose by ko though anyways. Either Wandy wins a decision or he doesn't win the fight in my opinion.

I predict a double knockout because both these guys have huge knockout power nah but really wandy takes this one by decision IMO.

Leben consider retirement? Same guy that beat Simpson as a +250 dog and then Akiyama as a +250 dog 2 weeks later? If that's how you feel, you're probably not giving Brian Stann enough credit.

Anyways, Wanderlei another hero of the sport, but beyond his prime. I admire both of these fighters tremendously, but Leben probably takes this one TKO in the second.

Wand via KO/TKO, Leben tries to walk through punches to attack, wrong idea with Wand.
