The talk about Jose Aldo eventually moving up to 155 pounds has been discussed ever since the Brazilian started his tear through the featherweight division, where he currently sits as the No. 1 ranked fighter in the world.

During his time with the WEC, Aldo went 8-0 with seven knockouts or TKO’s with six of those never making it out of the second round.

Now the UFC featherweight champion, Aldo will make his first title defense in the Octagon against Mark Hominick, but the chatter about his move to 155 pounds hasn’t gone away.

The talk, however, may soon shift because Aldo could have a new list of contenders, some of which he may have faced at lightweight should he have made the move.

All that talk about Jose going up and down divisions was all so premature. It is like the Jon Jones vs Anderson Silva hype that's happening today. People get an idea in their head, they start shouting it from their soapbox (forum boards), others hear it and jump on the bandwagon, and then when it does not happen everyone is dissapointed. Jose Aldo has shown to be a phenomenal fighter, but what happens to this discussion if Hominick wins? And if he beats Hominick, what if say KenFlo beats Aldo, or Griffin beats him, or anyone else beats him? IMO Aldo has a very large order in front of him before he can either go down to 135 (as was suggested after he beat Faber) or going up to 155.

Luckily, Aldo will win and then we don't have to worry about what happens. ;)
