To the naysayers who've said he isn't the future of the light-heavyweight division, Phil Davis has something to say.
Did you think of that one on your own, or did you need help?
"So I'm not the best in the world," Davis (9-0 MMA, 5-0 UFC) recently told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com). "Guess what. I will be one day."
Less-than-stellar feedback on his most recent performance and a series of nagging injuries have prompted Davis to realign his priorities. Improving his skills is now the most important part of his career.

Phil Davis is already great, he just needs to learn more standup. If Davis gets better boxing, that will distract his opponents, and he can set the takedown up better, his kicks were landing well on Lil Nog

Well he was very lackluster and looked like a fool trying to get Lil Nog down...Set up your takedowns better next time...

Well, you have to give him some credit in the Lil Nog fight. He was fighting a very experienced veteran, and once he realized he couldn't do anything with double legs, he switched to single leg takedowns and managed to take Nog down pretty easily after that. He's still trying to better his wrestling more for MMA while at the same time improve his stand up which he himself called amateur. Which is why I'm very happy to hear he's taking more time to improve his game.

I think it's a good move for Mr Wonderful. He does need to sharpen his ground skills, and work heavily on his Striking if he intends to hang with the guys in the upper end of the weight class.

Shouldn't take time off when your hot!!! But right now. He could. He is only about two fights away from a title fight
He may have to go through shogun, machida, griffin or franklin to get it

I doubt he could beat Bader right now...but the UFC wont make that fight cuase they want phil to eventually fight for the title..>cause everyone else just lost all their creedentials..>Theres some fights out there but they all favor Jon Jones in the matchups...Hes gonna be hard to beat with sick reach advantage and superior wrestling....
