I dont mean to talk trash right after his win but nick diaz is legit. Even though he went down early, nick came back to win the fight in an impressive victory. Who faces him next? Does he go back to the ufc? Diaz vs GSP?

Tyron Woodley is next.

Though I kinda wanted Diaz to get tko'd because he was being so cocky.

going to the ufc would be detrimental to his career. i dont see him even being top 5 in the ufc. he was impressive tonight but his home is strikeforce.

I think Nick Diaz would easily be a top 5 welterweight in the UFC, just like he is in MMA. I don't think he would defeat Fitch/Alves/Penn/GSP, but Diaz easily beats Condit, Hardy, and Sanchez.

Nick Diaz is a great fighter, but I don't care for his attitude sometimes.

I don't think he would "easily" beat Condit or Sanchez, although I could see him taking the W. I think there are still plenty of other guys that he would struggle with:

Ellenberger
Foster
Hallman
Hendricks
Hughes
Johnson
Kim
Story
Shields (even though they'll never fight)

Regardless though, including Shields already bumps him from the top 5.

I think Diaz would be very competitive in the UFC WW division, but would have a hard time dealing with the wrestling of the top guys like GSP, Fitch, or Koschek. I think we will see him in the UFC eventually.

To hijack the thread a bit, I here people talk about Alvarez v. Melendez, but how do you guys think a Diaz v. Askren fight would go? If wrestling is Diaz' weakness, I would think Ben would be a very bad matchup for him. On the other hand, Ben doesn't have enough of a stand-up game to hang with Diaz for even a couple minutes.

What say you?

I'm a guy that's been talking quite a bit about the Alvarez vs Melendez fight.

As far as the Askren vs Diaz fight goes I don't think Diaz would be able to stop the takedowns for even get up from them. His guard is great but Askren would put him in side control and hold him tight for three rounds just like we saw last night.
