The Ultimate Fighter season three veteran Matt Hamill has been waiting a long time to get a crack at a top 10 opponent. He is finally getting his chance against Quinton "Rampage" Jackson at UFC 130. Jackson was originally scheduled to face Thiago Silva, but Silva's failed drug test after UFC 125 opened up the opportunity for Hamill. Hamill talks about the May 28th fight on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani: (video)

"The first time I heard (about the Rampage fight), I was really excited because I wanted to face him. I think it's my moment and time to shine, so I'm really excited to fight Rampage."

"I know I'm going to break his will, I know I'm going to beat Rampage. I've been training real hard and my conditioning and my skills and technique, striking and kicking are a lot better."

"I'm not going to underestimate him; he has heavy hands and he's got great knockout power. I know that Rampage is not really motivated to fight with me because I'm out of his league; but I promise you, it's going to be a war and a great fight."

That's the spirit, Hamill. I like Rampage, but I would love to see Hamill pull off the upset.

I just can't see Matt winning this fight. He's not a guy that will take someone down and rid out a decision and that's honestly the only way I see him beating Rampage. I think Rampage will light him up on the feet to the point where his takedowns get extremely sloppy and then he'll put Matt out of his misery. Late in the first, maybe the 2nd.

Hamill has the WORST looking SLOPPIEST boxing in MMA.
If he stands there and pops out that stupid slow stiff left jab like he always does rampage is going to run his head through the the rafters like a pinball.

Stylistically Matt Hamill is the ideal opponent for Rampage, someone who isn't perfect on there feet, wants to take him down, remotely unexperienced. Rampage is gunna finish him. I hate to say it, but this is rampage's ideal fight! Sprawl and Brawl land a signature hook lights out Hamill.

And like the rest of the guy's I wouldn't mind seeing the upset, but I don't see Hamill doing anything Rampage hasn't seen before.

I hope Hamill gets KO'd ever since he stole that fight from Jones, I hate him. Garbage, dude was done before the illegal elbows. Go Rampage, knock his head off.

Lol, how is that his fault at all? You're mad at the guy for getting completely destroyed? Hamill is awesome, he's a great guy and I love his story.

I'm not a hater, I'm realistic (to the guy mentioning being a hater). Hamill's striking is sloppy at best and always has been. He's been beating guys like Tito standing up and to me that's not a big accomplishment. Rampage has been knocking guys out his whole career, to him Hamill is just another one of those guys.

I actually see this the complete opposite, Rampage will break Hamills.

I hate to say it but the only thing getting broken in this fight is Hamill's nose. The dude is an awsome wrestler but for some reason he just prefers to use his sloppy ass boxing all the time. Rampage is a better boxer and will probably catch him at some point cuz he just block the punches with his face. Im not a huge fan of Rampage but I think he'll take this fight. I do hope Hamill pulls off the upset though. If he takes Rampage down and G'n'P's him, he has a better chance.

I would like to see Hammil or Rampage come out of the fight with a big win, because the once upon a time most stacked division is not as top heavy as it was before Jon Jones took the thrown.
right now, I can't see either Hammil or Rampage beating Jon Jones, but with a great performance and a demonstration of improvement, that would help make a case for either next contender.
Hammil may have done better against Jon if he didnt dislocate his shoulder, but Rampage won't have much luck boxing on flat feet against a really tall fast and long reached JJ. Rampage will have to go for takedowns, to keep JJ guessing than submit or ko him, just as Hammil would, and right now I dont see that having any possibility.
