“Well,” Toby Imada said, “s--t happens.”

Not long after he was dismissed from the Bellator Fighting Championships Season 4 lightweight tournament in a violent knockout loss to Patricky “Pitbull” Freire, Imada (Pictured) faced the music. The 32-year-old Los Angeles native was left unconscious by a flying knee, two follow-punches and a left hook 2:53 into round one of his semifinal matchup with Freire at Bellator 39 on Saturday at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn.

I've never seen anyone completely out on their feet like Imada was.

Ditto. That was one of the most amazing things I have ever witnessed! However, I am really concerned with how Matt Lee is doing. I hope his skull isn't completely spiderwebbed....

I'm a fan of Imada so it was sad to see him get put out like that, props to Patricky though good timing on the knee and vicious follow up.

I hope Toby takes time off, at least 3 months of no hard sparring. Brain injuries are no joke, he should give it time to properly heal and not be too hasty to get back in the cage.

Glad to hear he's okay. I missed the fight, and plan on looking them up in the next day or so. The knockout sounds crazy.
