Still 13 weeks out from his rematch with BJ Penn at UFC 132, Jon Fitch has pulled out of the fight due to a training injury.

Sources close to the UFC confirmed the news to MMA Fighting on Wednesday. Word of Fitch's withdrawal from the bout was first reported by MMA Weekly.

There is no word yet on a possible replacement for Fitch. The fight was expected to determine the top contender for the UFC welterweight title currently held by Georges St-Pierre.

Fitch and Penn fought to a majority draw at UFC 127 in Sydney last month when two judges scored the fight 28-28, giving Penn the first and second rounds, and a 10-8 to Fitch in the third. One judge scored the fight 29-28 in favor of Fitch.

Noooooo! Fitch would have dominated a rematch! Hope the dude is ok and back fighting soon.

Condit seems the obvious choice to replace Fitch.

If GSP moves up to middleweight after his fight with Shields, Fitch vs. Penn II will happen sometime in the future.

Some of the best news I've heard lately, absolute NO interest in that rematch.

I'd rather see Penn/Serra 2

Guess we know what the main event for 132 is now...

blessing in disguise, the 1st fight between these two were so boring. Maybe somebody exciting like Condit can replace Fitch.

Condit or Koscheck lead the way as replacements. Unless the UFC throws a curveball and Set up Penn vs Jim Miller at 155.

First time I wont be cheering for BJ if they bring in Miller. BJ vs Kos would be ok, but I think he is still under medical suspension and needs clearance. At the time of 127 he still had nerve damage from the orbital break.

But a BJ vs Miller at 155? WAR MILLER!~!

I like the Condit sentiment that is flowing. He's a good choice. How about Kampmann!!? Despite his two "losses", he has been putting a hurting on fools, and this would be a good make or break moment for him.

Condit vs Penn would be a fight I'd love to see...for sure. But lets see Zuffa flex their muscle here and get this merger going now.....Nick Diaz come on down..... not a chance in hell, but how sick would that fight be....Jesus.
