Middleweight fighters Rob Kimmons and Chris Camozzi are the latest victims of the UFC's roster purge.
MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) today confirmed Kimmons' release with a source close to the fighter.
Camozzi confirmed his release on his official website.
Kimmons (23-7 MMA, 3-4 UFC) leaves the organization after a three-year and seven-fight run in the world's largest MMA promotion. The 30-year-old signed with the organization with a 20-3 record and went 3-4 in the UFC. His release followed back-to-back losses to Kyle Noke at UFC 122 and Dongi Yang at UFC on Versus 3.

Camozzi getting cut is a little harsh but I guess they both make sense.

Im thinking that kimmon's release is a bit harsher, he doesnt have a horrible record in the UFC but i do admit that as soon as dana gave him a challenging opponent he immidiately got outclassed... so ultimately it does make sense.

I don't agree with Cammozi being cut. The kid has only lost once and his previous win was against a tough Dongi Yang. He's young and still has potential. I hate to see him go.

Yeah Camozzi cut is suprising with just one loss in the ufc, and yet they bring back Vera.......I know Vera is a bigger draw but I think Camozzi offers a better fight.

I agree. I liked Camozzi, sucks he got released. I hope he can do some smaller fights and work his way back in. He looked pretty terrible in that last fight, has a lot to work on

Like always, once the guys build up a few more wins, they will have another opportunity. Not a huge loss.

I understand Kimmons getting cut, but I was fairly sure that Cammozi would fight another day. Oh well, it just pisses me off that young fighters like Cammozi are getting cut while guys like Ortiz are still getting paid 200,000 just to show.

camozzi was a decent fighter and I enjoyed watching him, sucks to see him go, especially since he only fought once in the ufc.

He fought three times, winning two and losing one, which makes it even worse that he got cut.

I am suprised in cammozzi being let go. He wasn't exciting at all, that is reason he was cut.

I have a problem with Camozzi getting cut after one loss. He flew to Australia to fight in Kyle Noke's home country and lost. Noke was the favorite anyway, plus he had home court advantage. Not cool, brah. He has potential for sure.

Ehhh....I think he'll find a spot somewhere else. I'm just hoping he does soon, proves himself and makes his way back to the biggest promotion around. He's a good young fighter and the UFC needs more fighters like him. He does need a lot of work though. Maybe Bellator would be good for him.
