Greed will imprison us all.

No one knows that better than the legions of National Football League (NFL) fans that are being held hostage right now by the owners and players inability to come to terms on an agreement regarding how to split the massive amount of revenue the league brings in each year.

They're also bickering over potential rule changes, whether or not to add a few games to each season, a rookie pay scale and many other labor disputes. All of these issues that have gone unresolved for far too long have led to the possibility of a work stoppage.

In short, by the time August rolls around this year, there may not be any professional football. But where one door closes, another one opens and there is always someone standing on the other side, waiting to walk through it.

Enter Dana White and his Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).

The next guy is another just like the rest. You never heard of him and he wasn't good enough to hack it in the NFL. None of the NFL players are good enough to fight in the UFC and theUFC is the only company who MIGHT be able to pay them.

I think they were locked out of work. When a contract is up a new one has to be put in place. This time each side is playing hard ball. I have no problem with that its just when they open their mouths and say stuff like they are modern day slaves that I ahve a problem with.

Good for mma

This lock out thing makes me sick
I was locked out for 6 months. I had friends and colleagues lose thEir homes , cars. Couldn't feed their kids. Makes me sick knowing a bunch of millionaires are on strike for more money.

The fans will be the ones to lose
Higher concessions, tickets, and car parking

The Fans lost long ago. Its all corperate now anyway. You got a better chance at getting a sneak peak of heaven then getting Steeler tickets

The real problem is the $$$ isn't there in mma. There are athletes in the NFL right now who have wrestled and/or sub grappled who, with a couple years full-time training at the right camp, could make an impact in mma. But it isn't worth it to someone who can make millions if they are not hurt and the season ever starts.

My mistake I didn't mean ever fight in the UFC. I ment jump ship due to the lock out. There clearly are great athletes in the NFL that with the right training would hold their own. But your not going to get Chad Johnson or TSuggs to put in the work and become good enough to fight in the UFC. You are right though i should have explained what I ment.
