A lightweight bout between veterans Sam Stout (16-6-1 MMA, 5-5 UFC) and Yves Edwards (40-16-1 MMA, 8-4 UFC) will be part of UFC 131.

Sources close to the negotiations today told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) the matchup is in the process of being finalized.

Another excellent fight for this ppv. I'm really excited for this one. This could easily be FOTN. I can't even pick a winner here, maybe the slightest of edges to Stout because I'm Canadian?

Any thoughts on this matchup Playground?

I like Yves because of the experience and the better ground game, solid fight though.

Love this fight. All the upcoming events are looking real good and this one in Vancouver is no exception. I'm gonna take Yves by UD.

Surprised to see all this love for Yves, Hope this means we get good odds on Stout. Maybe in his prime Yves would have handled him here but no Doubt Stout makes Yves look old this fight and thrash him standing while Yves can't take him down/

Edwards would have the advantage on the ground i do agree with that. but both these guys are gonna wanna give the fans a show. I rarely seen stout be on his back even when fighting opponents that have better wrestling or ground games then him. Yves will try and stand and eventually get picked appart by stout.

Love this fight though, great potential for a fotn

Sounds like yet another FOTN for Stout. I got Stout by TKO early or a UD. Yves is better on the ground but i dont think he can keep Stout there if he takes him down and Stout has great standup.
