Strikeforce will for the second time conduct independent drug testing of its competitors at an event.
Several fighters appearing on an upcoming fight card slated for June 18 at American Airlines Center in Dallas will be tested for drugs of abuse and performance-enhancers drugs, Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker confirmed to MMAjunkie.com via email.
Those included in the extra testing are all four of the participants scheduled to compete in the second quarterfinal round of the Strikeforce heavyweight grand prix, which kicked off Feb. 12 and resumes at the June event.

isn't this the event Overeem is fighting at?
Wasn't Overeem's last Strikeforce drug test "independently done"?
verrrrrrrrrrrrrry interested Mr. Coker...protecting your big star again now are we?

Not reallyyy.
This testing is in addition to the state commissioned testing, so really he's trying twice as hard to make sure Overeem and Barney arent juicing. They now have to pass two piss tests.

unless they go to japan like they have planned, a place with no testing or limitations, they're protecting those two alright, it's pathetic and just like the untested (pre-zuffa) pride fights, shouldn't be counted in their mma record, imo.

You're clearly in denial if you think the guys that fight under the UFC banner, now or before the Pride takeover, aren't juicing. It's been proven with a few guys. Steroids are as alive and well as ever in MMA. It's like with anything, if you find a way to catch them, they'll find away to cheat again.
