Their first encounter lasted all of eight seconds.

UFC exiles Houston Alexander and James Irvin will meet for a second time in a featured light heavyweight tilt at Shark Fights 14 on March 11 at the Fair Park Coliseum in Lubbock, Texas. Alexander on Thursday announced the rematch via Twitter. Irvin knocked out “The Assassin” with a Superman punch at UFC Fight Night 13 in April 2008.

Alexander (Pictured), who turns 39 next month, will carry a two-fight winning streak into the rematch. He last appeared at Shark Fights 13 in September, when he stopped Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou on second-round punches at the Amarillo Civic Center in Amarillo, Texas. An East St. Louis, Ill., native, Alexander burst on the scene in 2007 with consecutive first-round finishes over Jackson’s Mixed Martial Arts representative Keith Jardine and American Top Team’s Alessio Sakara. However, he lost each of his next four UFC fights and was cut by the promotion following his unanimous decision defeat to Kevin “Kimbo Slice” Ferguson at “The Ultimate Fighter 10” Finale in December 2009.

I don't see this fight making any sense or difference for either man's career, let's just hope they finish it quickly again and there isn't any second guesses or excuses......Irvin needs like 5 good wins in a row right now to be recognized again in my book.

A win over a known commodity is never a bad thing, and these guys are fighting in the minors right now so at this point a win would help either guy. Neither is going back to the big show with a win here, but they've gotta fight somebody to make ends meet.

I think that Houston was overrated gong into that fight and Irvin underrated, I think Houston is still pretty much the same fighter, maybe a little slower, where as Irvin has really dropped off, gotta go with Houston since I thought he would win when they were prime.

IMO this fight doesnt change much from the first one. Irvin has been brutal lately but i think he will still be confident going into this fight with what happened last time. Irvin 1st RND KO. Again

Hopefully Irvin takes the respective he deserves from Houston. After the first fight Houston kept going on and on about not being unconcious, and went on in his post fight interviews to tell Irvin to man up and admit that it wasn't a fair stoppage. I'm looking forward to seeing Irvin smash him again. Houston managed a comeback against Sokoudjou, but his chin showed weakness and it won't be difficult for Irvin to take advantage of it via rape punch.

I know this fight doesn't have a lot of relevance but I think it's a fun fight to watch. i am pretty sure that is the reason Shark put it together, builds a little buzz. It's the type of fight I like to watch every now and again and i wish they had a tv deal somewhere!

Yeah, alright guys I guess I will find a free replay of it somewhere and give it a glance. Personally, I hope Irvin wins.
