It's back to business for Bellator middleweight champion Hector Lombard. The hard-swinging fighter is expected to meet Falaniko Vitale in a non-title bout on May 14 at Bellator 44. Verbal agreements are in place, paperwork pending. Lombard, who won Bellator's season-one tournament to become champion, beat back the first challenger to his belt this past October when he took on season-three tourney winner Alexander Shlemenko and earned a unanimous-decision win at Bellator 34. Vitale returned to active competition this past year and put together back-to-back wins in his home state of Hawaii.

I really like Hector Lombard. One of my few favorites in Bellator. The guy is a beast. BUT, I honestly wouldn't mind seeing him lose if Vitale manages to secure an Ezekiel Choke on him. I would love to see the move used live, and I doubt most mainstream fans know what the submission is. It would be a breath of fresh air from the usual Guillotines, Rear Nakeds, and Triangles.

I dont understand these non-title fights in Bellator, not the best way to build a brand.
