A lightweight bout between veteran Jeremy Stephens and "The Ultimate Fighter 12" winner Jonathan Brookins is in the works for June.

A source close to the event told MMAjunkie.com the two fighters are expected to meet at The Ultimate Fighter 13 Finale.

The fight, which will be one of the few not associated with the reality series' conclusion, takes place June 4 at The Pearl at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas.

This should be a great fight! Big test for both of them. Brookins has a solid chin but if Stephens comes in like Johnson did in the first round then who knows what could happen. It will probably end up being a close decision.. and I don't know if I could guess a clear winner right now. Picking either of them could be a 50/50 chance come fight time.

The finale is looking to be a fun card. No big names, but a lot of exciting fighters. Looking forward to this season..

I really hope Brookins has learned to keep his hands up, otherwise I fear he's gonna get KTFO.

They certainly picked a guy with shotty submission defense to try and give him a win. The questions to me are can he get it to the mat? and keep it there to get one? He had so many problems with Michael Johnson and this was another terrible season of TUF. Honestly I think Brookins is going to be the next TUF winner cut, just too many holes in his striking and wrestling.

Stephens by KO.

Stephens R1 KO, Brookins will have to tuck that chin if he wants to win.

no doubt he can win the ground game IMO but he has no striking ability from what i've seen of the guy.

I don't think they are picking Stephens to give him a win, I think it's just an interesting match up, classic stiker vs grappler. I'd say Brookins is the underdog in this one. I say 1rst round KO for Stephens (but I hope I'm wrong I like Brookins.)

We'll really see here if Brookins has improved...otherwise good night.

One thing I have noticed through the years is that TUF fighters generally get drastically better post TUF because they can get into better training camps etc...so I'll be looking forward to how Brookins has done

I cannot agree more. Some people seem to think that the fighters who win TUF should automatically be amazing at what they do and stack up a winning record. They forget that the whole reason behind TUF when it first started was to find rookie fighters and help them along in their careers. Brookins just won TUF not too long ago and people are already shoving him aside without giving him any real chance. We don't know what his full potential could be with a solid training camp.

I can see no outcome other than Brookins getting knocked silly. The guy has heart/integrity/drive out the a55, but When Lil Heathen puts his hands on you it's a different story. There are too many holes in his stand up and he wasnt that great of a wrestler that he will over power Stevens to get a TD. I like the kid but Brookins gets his first UFC loss here.

Does anyone have a rough list of the "successful" UFC guys from TUF? I wonder what the TUF winners vs TUF losers success rate is...Granted there are more "losers" in the pool to choose from, but I think winning TUF doesnt mean anything...it means you were a better amatuer fighter so to speak than the rest...post TUF is the real test

when you go back to TUF 1...it's amazing the amount of TUF alum that are kicking ass
