People watching baseball 100 years ago got to see Ty Cobb, Honus Wagner, Walter Johnson and Christy Mathewson. We'll be able to tell our grandchildren that we saw Anderson Silva, Georges St. Pierre and Fedor Emelianenko.

And the beginning of Jon Jones

Possibly also Cain Velasquez, but I'm not ready to make that claim yet. If Anderson, GSP and Fedor all retired tomorrow morning, they'd be the best the sport has ever had. I can't say that about Cain or Bones right this minute.

Well your boy pmoney went 10-1 with 79 points, my best effort so far, by far! I forgot who was bummed on their 8-3, but I wish I did that well every event!

I did 9-2 with like 67 points I think? Not bad.

What a great event. Ive never seen anyone knocked out with a front kick before, it was awesome!! Bones, Cerrone, Taylor (just saw his fight) all looked great, just wow.

Only thing coulda made it better would be if Rich had won

Incidentally, Bones and Shogun each have less than 6 weeks to prepare for each other.

That is such BS. Is it me, or is the UFC starting to look more and more like WWE?

Serious question; how does Bones do it with chicken legs?

A fighter as tall as he is; idealistically would be susceptible to leg kicks, a guy like Rua, looking at the job he did to Machida in their first fight; would seem to have a technical advantage over Jones. But it’s a matter of Jones’ ability to withstand leg kicks.

Has Jones ever had to seriously deal with a skilled Muay Thai striker chopping down his trees?

In a fight between Rua and Jones, out right, based on sheer physical attributes, I would have to place Jones in advantageous position, however, when it comes to technique and fighter versatility, I would take Rua hands down, assuming that Rua isn’t suffering from residual effects from his surgery.

All ring rust aside, I would still take Rua over Jones, because I don’t think Jones is yet to fight a player that is as technically skilled or as experienced at Shogun.

Jones does it with chicken legs because he hasn’t fought a person who knows how to make their leg strikes count.
