Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone (17-3) is officially in the UFC. He’ll make his debut for the promotion this Saturday at UFC 126: Silva vs. Belfort in Las Vegas when he takes on English fighter Paul Kelly.

Kelly (11-3) will be making his ninth appearance in the UFC, so he’s definitely earned his stripes in the Las Vegas-based promotion. It’s safe to assume that with eight fights in the Octagon, opponents will know who Paul Kelly is.

If Cowboy can get past Kelly, I say make it happen against Mac.

You know cerrone never did hold a belt
Went 0-3 fighting in championship fights
He shouldn't be calling out danzig or cole miller like he is somebody
The guy is too cocky

I like Cerrone but he has to prove himself against the UFC level competition. Kelly is a great first UFC fight for him. I think Kelly has a decent shot at winning it though. This one might be a tough one for Donald. I think Cerrone would beat Danzig though and that fight would have probably been a more "appropriate" first UFC match. As far as the feud with Cole Miller goes...that is another tough one. I don't think Cerrone would have an easy time with Cole. Now that the WEC and UFC have finally merged we will get to see the differences in levels of competition within the overlapping 155lb division. The weeding out process has begun.
