Apparently Simpson started a Twitter war with comments about Jones' next fight at UFC 126 against Ryan Bader. Naturally, Jones' fuse was lit. "Didn't you lose your last 2 fights? Please don't piss me off, I actually have respect for ryan. Don't you have a fight scheduled? Focus on yourself instead of whether I'm ready or not. Are you familiar with the strike policy in baseball?"

If I was Aaron Simpson (or any light heavyweight or heavyweight for that matter) the last person I would be talking smack to would be Jon Jones....just a thought.

Does it anger anyone else that this is actually *news*. I understand the utility of Twitter, but it seems like more and more news stories (and not just in MMA) are
HEADLINE: Fill-in-the-Blank(name) tweets "Fill-in-the-blank(nonsense)"... "Fill-in-a-new-blank(name) disapproves.
BODY OF STORY: Fill-in-the-Blank(second name) tweets "Fill-in-the-blank(nonsense)" in retaliation.
SECOND PARAGRAPH: Analysis of tweets and retweets.
END OF STORY
I can't help but feel that maybe we'd be a bit better off without twitter at this point.

I don't think Simpson is doing it just be insulting. In some of Jon's interviews he does actually come off a bit cocky and act as though he will run through Bader like he's done with past opponents. Simpson is just sticking up for a fellow member of his training camp, and letting Jones know that Bader shouldn't be taken lightly.

I love twitter banter. I find it very entertaining. One of my favorite tweets came from Paul Pierce after Boston destroyed Miami in the first game of the NBA season
It's been a pleasure to bring my talents to South Beach now on to Memphis
It takes shittalking to a whole new level.

I'm def a Bones Jones guy but I have to say that lately it seems like he has bought into the hype on himself and really has developed an arrogance or cockiness that wasn't there a year ago...Which is a shame because besides the immense talent the kid has, his humbleness was part of the charm of rooting for him and wanting to see him climb his way to the top.
I still feel he is the future of the division, or at the very least the winner of this fight will be...but if he continues down this path then I may start to find myself wanting to see him get knocked down a peg.
Time will tell.

I liked Twitter when the only person using it was Leo Laporte, the Tech Guy. He used to be on The Screen Savers before G4 and Tech TV merged. Which was the worst thing to happen to TV by the way! G4 was ALL VIDEO GAMES, and Tech TV was, as expected, all types of tech. Now G4/TechTV shows Cops....2.0......
But about the pertinent issue.... Jones is a phenom, for sure. But in my opinion he is a cocky bastard, a fake, holier than thou Christian, and I want Bader to curb stomp him into oblivion. I used to like him before I heard him open his mouth.

When you twitter someone with a bigger name and bigger career that's on their way up, it's obvious all you're looking for is recognition.
