Heavyweight great Fedor Emelianenko will leave it up to observers and pundits to determine who the No. 1 heavyweight in the world is following the conclusion of the 2010 Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix.

Should the winner of the tournament be ranked higher than the UFC heavyweights?

"That's probably something the specialists and commentators should decide," Fedor said Thursday on a conference call promoting his upcoming quarterfinal bout against Antonio Silva.

This attitude of extreme humbleness is a major factor why he never wanted to joined the UFC. It troubles me when he says "I will leave it up to specialists to decide if I'm the best" when for the longest time everyone thought he was #1. It's exactly what the best fighter in the world would say. Anderson says he's not the best, GSP thinks he has challenges at 170, Frankie never brags, Aldo never brags, Shogun never brags, Velasquez never brags, the only champion I know of that thinks he's unstoppable is Cruz.

Currently, Cruz is unstoppable...the only thing that is a hurdle right now, is surgery.

I agree. Cruz has been looking phenomenal at 135. It will be really interesting to see when he and Urijah Faber finally meet again at Bantamweight.

It'sthings like this that make Fedor one of my favorite fighters. As for if he's the greatest, I think the upcoming Strikeforce Heavyweight Tournament may answer that.

And Cruz is the fricken BOMB!

I would say he has been AWKWARD as F@#% at 135.
Cruz is a winner for sure! But I cannot get over how bizarre and impossible his footwork/movement is.
...It truly baffles me...

Hmm, id say Cruz is the least talented of the entire group.

Anyway, go fedor! Always a fan.

Cruz..are u sure..cuz last time i check he was pretty damn humble..n u put A. Silva in there..LMFAO..i love watchin the dude fight..but the way he acts sometimes, u know he thinks he's the best there is..n in some of his interview he resays what he jus said to make it seem more humble..but what first comes out is a bit cocky..but he has the rites to be cocky..he on FIRE..as long as u don't go overboard like Brock, than ur all good...

I would like to see Fedor train in America and add some more tools to his well rounded belt. more Kicks, jabs balance. I think Fedor could keep getting better and has a lot of potential still.
I hope Fedor beats Overeem. Overeem is talented, but I like Fedor's personality better. I wanna see Werdum, Fedor and Overeem beat Barnett and go to the UFC. I don't like Barnett's personality at all.

Between Fedor and Overeem, humbleness is much overflowing. Great to see, and I do believe that if we don't get to see Fedor Vs Velasquez or Overeem vs JDS, the only thing we have to go by is the person's personality.
Not many humble top10's in the HW division in UFC, barring the current champ ofc.

I so wish M-1 would eff off sometimes - but regardless, Fedor's mix of being humble outside of the ring and an absolute wolverine inside is truly awesome
