Josh Grispi's loss could be Mark Hominick's gain. According to "Showdown" Joe Ferrara, if Hominick beats George Roop at UFC Fight Night 23 and comes out injury free, he will face UFC Featherweight Champion Jose Aldo at UFC 129 in Toronto. This was to have happened at UFC 125 but an injury then an Aldo injury changed plans.

Article

Update: Dana White has confirmed the report.

I think it should go both ways, Hominick wins he gets the shot BUT if roop wins I think the guy should get a title shot.

Either way they both fall to Aldo.

Kinda jumping the gun, aren't they? Hominick might not get past Roop.

Someone is gun-jumping, and it's not them...

If Tom Brady beats New York and comes out injury free he will play in the AFC Title Game.

I love "news" like this.

Tsk, Tsk, Tsk. I meant the article in general. I've never understood "if" articles.

I wonder how George Roop feels!
Talk about looking past someone. I guess Dana White should hold off on this news till after his fight, just makes more sense. Or at least keep it between Aldo and Mark, and away from the media.

Well I mean they might consider Roop if he wins but I was thinking that Roop had won two straight coming into this fight but it was a DRAW with Gracia and then a win over Zombie.

But they could be looking at Omigawa/Mendes winner for next title shot, or Nunes with his 3 straight wins.

Totally forgot about money mendes and omigawa fight

But saying a title shot before a fight
A lot of the time the pressure of it doesn't pull out the win. But a loss
Marquadt florian. To name a few fell knowing title shot was on the line
