Count Junior dos Santos amongst those who are pissed off about UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez shoulder injury and subsequent surgery that will keep him on the shelf for a reported six to eight months.
The Brazilian bomber is also questioning the nature of the injury itself -- after all, didn't Velasquez thoroughly dominate Brock Lesnar and finish the fight in the very first round while barely breaking a sweat?

I'm sure it's frustrating but Dos Santos is kind of coming off like a little kid here. "it's not fair" and "give me an interim belt"... Many things in life are unfair, but if he's injured he's injured. It sucks, but it happens all of the time, many other fighters have had to deal with similar situations. Just ask Yushin Okami or Josh Grispi for that matter who is already being told he is no longer guaranteed his fight. As for the interim belt, what's the point? I'm thinking he wants it so that he has something to guarantee he still gets the title shot when Cain is healthy, but it's not happening, not if the guy is only out for 6-8 months, and it's pointless. Win your next fight and you're getting the title shot anyway.
It's obviously got to be frustrating getting that close to your dream and be told you need to wait, but it is what it is. He should spend his time deciding where to go from here, not complaining that it's unfair and questioning the nature of Cain's injury, which is kind of an insult to Cain IMO.

I like JDS/Mir, they could hype it as a revenge match, for Mir beating Big Nog,

should be JDS vs lesnar (if he wants it) for interim. Mir needs 2 big wins. Carwin needs 1 big win.

I also like the fact that Junior was saying that he needs to fight to make money to survive when a quick check of his payouts and bonuses reveals that he made somewhere in the ballpark of $260K this year......seems to me he should be able to survive 6 months on that kind of a paycheck.....even after taxes.

Idk why brock would get to face JDS for an intermin belt after just losing.
I would say make it JDS vs Mir, just because I would like to see Mir get his head knocked off and it seems like one of the only logical matches.

I don't blame Junior for being angry, I think it's just a natural reaction.
IMO if you're injured and can't fight for six-eight months, then you should be stripped of the title.I'm sure that sounds harsh, but I don't think it's fair for someone to hold onto the title when their incapable of defending it in a reasonable amount of time. I think 6-8 months is unreasonable.
It sucks getting injured, there's nothing you can do about it...but that's life. There are other top contenders that are ready to fight. Do away with interim belts and just give the top two contenders a shot at the "real belt"..when Cain comes back next year or late this year he can have a crack at earning the title again.
