I think the same can be said for a number of fighters from TUF. These guys get the exposure and then a given easy fights in their UFC debuts. Name one other TUF (aside from Serra of course) who has gone out and fought a fighter like Tito Ortiz. All of the fighters from TUF are coddled or fight one another in the Octagon. IMO all of them are overrated until they prove themselves against the better fighters. Jardine and Rashad have come out banging, but neither has had a huge test until Evans v. Ortiz. All of the TUF fighters are hyped as being the next up and comers, so immediate results aren't necessary for building a career, and most fighters from TUF are just starting out. The UFC has to separate the yes and no's from the maybe so's and right now, Griffin is a maybe so.
Forrest Griffin is the TUF original product. The fans like him, he's a funny guy and is pretty good. Why wouldn't they keep him in the mix?

Forrest is one of my favorite fighters. He trains his ass off and shows up more improved and ready to fight each time. I was at the Ortiz v. Griffin fight and thought Griffin made a good case for the decision. I watched the Griffin v. Jardine fight, and Griffin looked awesome. He got caught- all fighters get caught eventually- just ask Cro Cop. He has earned his reputation.

Forrest has not developed that much since TUF IMO. However, I think he is good enough (so far) to still be in the UFC. I would label him a gatekeeper at this point and not a contender.
I agree completely. He hasnt improved much at all really.

He isnt a contender now, and never will be, but you dont have to be a contender to be in the UFC, they need guys to fill up the lower and mid ranks.
If anyone should go its Bonnar, that guy hast improved since TUF and never beats any names, he isnt going anywhere.

A guy wih an exciting style who wins more than he loses has a place in the UFC. There's only one championship per weight class and there need to be some guys who are gatekeepers and journeymen to test rising stars. Forrest is perfect in that role whether he ever wins a championship or not.
And how is the original post not fighter bashing? Can I say anything I want and then end with a statement that I'm not fighter bashing and that makes it ok?

I didn't bash him, but I didn't pick him. Does that qualify as bashing? I hope not. He'll choke me out.

First off I'll say congrats to Forest, no excesses he dominated that fight, but why in the hell did I be leave Shogun could be forced into that long of a lay off and think he would win. Damn me and my false hope. I hate you Dana White!!!!................PS I'm beginning to think Joe Rogan is a complete retard.

The thread was pretty useless before he did that. Now it is just useless and makes Forrest bashers look silly.
I understand the arguements against him, but really, the whole thought that if you aren't fighting for a belt is bogus, and, now he could be anyway.
