Following a loss to Mark Bocek at UFC 124 in Montreal, Dustin Hazelett has been released from the UFC.

Sources close to the fighter confirmed Hazelett’s release to MMAWeekly.com on Tuesday.

The Cincinnati-based fighter had fallen on tough times recently after knee surgery sidelined him for over a year. He returned and dropped his next three fights in a row.

I feel like he needs to just develop his whole game a little more. He's young and has a lot of time in front of him. He'll be back.

Understandable, but it still sucks. I loved watching Hazelett.

Can't help but think the surgery and the layoff had an effect on him. Sorry to see him go, but I think he will be back at some point.

Hate to say it but 3 in a row and you got to go! The guy is good on the ground for sure. He definatly needs to work on his standup. He will most likly be back

Yep he will be! Sad to see him not get the respect he deserves. I rather see him fight then 40% of the guys in the UFC.
Oh well, UFC'S loss!.

I was actually going to make a post asking if he'd been released. I hate to see him go. I respect a guy that goes out and trains MMA just to defend himself from bullies. That take balls. I think he could end up doing really well in Bellator.

I just don't regard him as high as a lot of people. His jiujitsu is flashy and raw, but he offers very little after that, in this day and age you have to be able to strike and you need to be a professional athlete, you can't submit everybody from off of your back.
