Give him Shields so he can at least beat hughes consecutive record for title defenses and if he wins send him to 185

Whoa whoa whoa, two people picked Shields? Reasoning?

Only reason I'd like to see this fight is to see Shields whipped at his own game.

And that's exactly what would happen. I think bouts at 185 have made Shields cut to 170 a lot more difficult, and he was running on empty by the 3rd round against Kampmann. You need to be able to go all 5 to beat GSP

Shields is the only opponent left that could give GSP a competitive fight. I don't think it will be an exciting fight, and the only reason I'll probably tune in is to watch GSP continue his reign over the division.

Shields will be destroyed against GSP. After that I say GSP should fight the real winner of Shields-Kampmann, which was Kampmann., or he should fight Carlos Condit, permitting Condit beats Lytle.

I don't think Shields will be very competitive at all. Shields has worse striking than Koscheck and I doubt Shields' wrestling is as good... Maybe GSP can finish Shields.

EDIT: Oh, as some others have mentioned, Shields conditioning didn't look very good the last time we saw him fight. That's not good.

I wouldn't mind seeing GSP fight Ben Askren just because I think Ben would be able to take GSP down more than past opponents, and we don't get to see GSP on his back very often.
Do I realistically think Askren would win? Nope. But I would just like to see how GSP's wrestling stacks up.

Why does Shields get a title shot after 1 fight? Oh well it will be nice to see another one bite the dust by GSP.

Only people left that can give him a competitive fight, fights in higher division. And most of them would be just by sheer size alone.

No interest is seeing this fight because I've basically seen it twice now, GSP vs Fitch and GSP vs Koscheck.

Hopefully they put GSP/Shield and Cain/JDS on the same card.

GSP hasn't cleaned out the division because he hasn't fought Shields or Condit.

If Lytle wins I'd love to see him finally get a shot too.

Just 18 more months at Welterweight, Georges. Then you can bulk up.

GSP should just move up already, grind out a decision against Silva, then hopefully fight Sonnen. That's a fight I'd love to see and one I think GSP would probably lose.

No such thing as cleaning out a division. New guys are always on the rise.
