Tito is just too experienced. Rashad hasn't faced the same caliber of opponents as tito. Also, as far as i know Rashad is a good wrestler but his striking is sub-par for MMA. Basically, Tito is more well rounded with his skills on the ground and on his feet. Tito Wins!!!!!

I'm going to take a different turn on these fights, and this is why I have been successful in a lot of betting on these events.

Rashad is one of the most boring ass fighters ever. He isn't explosive. He isn't aggressive. If Assuerio Silva and Rashad Evans fought, watching two turkeys baste would be more exciting. Tito, on the other hand, actually tries to be exciting, and has a lot of pop out of the gate. Since Rashad is a wrestler, he'll most likely just come out and blast him to the ground and put a GnP clinic on Rashad. If he doesn't do that, then Tito will lose.

Rashad will take by either by boring decision cause he kept it standing and out worked Ortiz and Ortiz couldn't muscle him to the mat which is really what a Tito Ortiz take down is, not a lot of technique. The only it comes a win for Ortiz is if can land a nice power shot which he lacks to the stand-up skill to do, but the chance is there he dropped Wandy in the past ,and could maybe drop Rashad. All in all though this fight will be more about stand-up and less about wrestling cause I don't foresee either of them taking the other down.

When Has Tito Shown any stand up?
The Griffen fight cause Forrest has Terrible stand-up he's just tough and determined Rashad would worked Forest over worse than Tito did.

I forget Tito also worked a 85 year old Ken Shamrock over on the feet my bad in Tito- Ken 1.

Frank was still doing pretty well the first time he and Tito went at it, which happens to be the fight where they did the most standup.

Tito's is in top cardio (thanks Jenna!) shape that will be the deciding factor i see evens tiring in the third round and getting caught in a take down and G&P will prevail

I think Tito will win, but if he couldnt finish Forrest he wont be able to finish Rashad. Probably a Unanimous decision win for Tito, but I doubt its gonna be an exciting match. Every time I see Tito fight, I become a little more accepting that the old Tito we used to love is gone.

I used to be a huge Tito fan, then he just stopped being a bad boy.

you also have to remember that was his first fight back in the octagon in over a year. he had some ring rust. also his stand up is much improved since then. tito is gonna come into this fight hungry and ready to lay an ass whooping on rashad. Tito by TKO due to GnP 2nd round.

And what do you have to base your information on? What good wrestlers has Rashad fought in the UFC? One, and his name was Sean Salmon, who Rashad could not take down or control for the entire first round. In addition to that fact, Rashad's Division one record was something like 47 and 34. Although it was a winning record it was definitely not a shining example of wrestling skills. Tito's record was 19 and 10. I think everyone is pretty much in agreement that Rashad has yet to prove his skills as a wrestler.

This is an excellent post.
I think that Tito wins via UD, but I wouldn't be surprised if Tito is able to stop the bout via GnP, in the third.

i think that tito will be able to take evans down, he is aggressive enough to the point where, yes he might be out matched a little by rashad's skill, but can still be effective. i think it could go either way though.

Ken actually usually did ok against Ortiz every time in the stand-up and probably would have beat him except for his accelerated age.

Sorry I'm stupid and messed my Shamrocks up Frank vs. Tito was when Tito reallied totally on physical strength (more so than now even though he still does) If i recall Frank dominated the stand-up and Tito the ground in that fight

I think it's interesting what the ramifications of this fight mean for both. This is actually a huge fight for both guys career directions. If Evans wins he probably will only need 1 more fight for a title shot, albeit against another top fighter, maybe even Chuck. Tito only has one more fight on his UFC contract after this. If he wins he has more leverage at the bargaining table, as long as he looks goos. If he loses, and doesn't show well, his bargaing position is reduced. He might hold out ,and then the UFC could bury him like Vera for a long time.

I really think Rashad's gonna bring it and outclass Tito, humiliating him. If Tito cant get any of his Takedown's he is screwed against Rashad.

gonna be a real good fight could go either way im cing Tito winning By Uni i don't know Rashad hasn't really faced a top talent (unless u count bonnar i don't) so it should be interesting how he fares im guessing hell get gassed though and not be able to stop Tito's take downs and the ground and pound by Tito will be too much for him. Im still not convinced with Rashad i dont think hes as improved as much as people are saying just the competition hasn't taken a step up so we'll see how far he has come im guessing not far enough to beat Tito though.

This will be a war!!!! Stand up, Rashad is overated in being better then Tito. Tito doesent get enough credit, I expect him to show improved Stand up and expect Rashad to attempt the first takedown!!!! Tito will sprawl and it will be astand up war the 1st round. Rashad will win the second and rock tito but tito will get the takedown with under a minute left but not enough time to win the round, The thrid round they stand up tito keeps rocking Rashad but Rashad gets back up and rocks tito and takes him down and the ref stands it up because or boring lay & prey and they duke it out for the last minute or two in which I see Tito winning the Split Decision!!!!

And yes, I am a huge tito fan
