Rick "The Horror" Story is quietly terrorizing the middle tier of the UFC welterweight division.
But his team says he's capable of much more. And after a decision win over Johny Hendricks (9-1 MMA, 4-1 UFC) this past Saturday at The Ultimate Fighter 12, Story (12-3 MMA, 5-1 UFC) is looking for big things in 2011.
"I don't think he should be fighting anyone out of the top 10 now," Pat White, Story's longtime trainer, today told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com).
The 26-year-old Story turned in his fifth consecutive octagon victory by dominating Hendricks where he wasn't supposed to – the mat.

He's done nothing but impress me as of late. I regret picking Hendricks in this bout. Story is aggressive, strong, and is improving his technique with each fight. He's going to be a handful for anyone at 170.

Tell me about it, man! I expected Hendricks to completely dominate Story!

I picked him mostly because I've seen him fight at the Rosegarden. That was one of the closest fights I've seen all year.

Story has a good story too for those that don't know much about him.
He was 0-17 as a Freshman wrestler (184) here locally at Pacific Lutheran University, then went through basic training in the Army National Guard, got in good shape, and transferred down to Southern Oregon University because PLU closed shop on their wrestling program.
At SOU he had 17, 18, then 33 wins and advanced to the 184 pound NAIA Championship and was an All-American his SR year.
0-17 as a freshman wrestler to 5-1 in the UFC; not bad.

He needs it. I picked Hendricks to win but when Story looked so intense at the weigh-ins I knew I should have switched my pick. Hendricks had like a split second look of fear on his face. I don't blame him, Story is one intense dude.
Probably won't happen, but I say give him a shot at Diego. Man, can you imagine it? Both dudes are really intense, and I have a feeling they wouldn't like each other. That could be Fight Of The Year.
Make it happen UFC!!!

Hallman, Mike Pyle and Sanchez would all be good opposition for Story. I think he'd beat Sanchez at this point, but the other two I'm not so sure.
