A featherweight bout between "The Ultimate Fighter 12" semifinalist Nam Phan (16-7 MMA, 0-0 UFC) and WEC fighter Leonard Garcia (14-6-1 MMA, 1-2 UFC) is slated for The Ultimate Fighter 12 Finale.

MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) learned of the matchup from sources close to the event.

The Ultimate Fighter 12 takes place at The Pearl at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, and the night's main card airs on Spike TV.

Garcia initially was scheduled to fight fellow WEC vet Tyler Toner at the show, but Ian Loveland took his place this past month. Initially, Garcia was thought to have suffered an injury, but it appears officials simply re-booked him for a fight with Phan.

Awesome, it's going to be a crazy night between this fight and the Bonnar fight, and the TUF final should all be thrill rides.

This isn't right. He was scheduled to fight Tyler Toner in a great matchup! Thought by many including me. He leaves that card, thought to be injured, and NOW he is back on the card and not injured anymore?? what the.....

If I was in charge, id make him fight Tyler Toner again.

Toner vs Garcia was a decent matchup, but you gotta look at it from a match making perspective. They needed a 145 pd opponent for Phan who the casual mma fan would recognize and would put on an entertaining fight (so they could put it on the main card). Look no further then Leonard, who was already commited to the card right? Besides, I dont think Leonard officially came out and said he was injured. It was reported he was removed from his fight with Toner, and people just assumed he was. No deception involved.

Im personally not going to complain about this fight, I think it will be an all out stand-up war.

Hopefully with some defense thrown in there too by Garcia, and less haymakers, more smart punches.

I bet they matched up Garcia vs Toner then someone from TUF 12 wasnt able to fight Nam then they pulled Garcia to face Nam to give a "better" match up. Something like that.

This sounds like a good match up to me. I can't wait for this fight. I am giving this one to Nam.

Garcia has the cardio issue. I think he has a decent gas tank but just throws it to wind with all the haymakers he throws. If he can swicth up his striking to a more technical style I don't think he would gas as fast. I'm not sure how much of an issue that will be in this fight though. Usually Garcia has fits when his opponent is more technical, faster, and more cardio, which I don't think will matter much with Nam. Their gas tanks are about even, and I give the technical striking to Nam, but I give aggressiveness to Garcia. Nam has the technical striking when the fight is going his way and he sets the pace, but as soon as his opponent starts landing on him he back ups and switches to sloppy hooks and overhands. That is Garcia needs to do in order to win. Straight from the bell he needs to back Nam up with his aggressive style and land clean shots, which will throw Nam off his gameplan and make him slug it out, which apparently Garcia likes. But, this time he stands a chance to win, because Nam isn't all that fast, and I don't think he will KO Garcia. I don't think the ground game will play that big a role in this fight.

Oh, and the size advantage will probably go to Garcia.

Prediction: Garcia via late first round stoppage or Split Decision.
