Evidently Marquardt thinks the path from "choker" (as Dana White called him) back to #1 contender involves a fight he thinks everyone wants...and some promises. "In order to re-establish myself as the number one contender, my next opponent needs to be an elite fighter who will stand and bang with me in the center of the Octagon until one of us is knocked out. The fight that makes the most sense to me is Wanderlei Silva. I have a ton of respect for Wanderlei and have wanted this fight for years, the fans have wanted this fight, they deserve to see two of the best fighters in the world in an all out war. Wanderlei is an amazing fighter who is very aggressive, I will pursue him with unwavering tenacity, then I will knock him out! I promise the UFC, Dana, my fans, my team, my coaches and most importantly myself that never again will there be a question about my cage aggression."

I think Nate lost his confidence and will to be great. He even said that he lost his will but regained it after Chael. I think he became less willing and confident after that fight and Yushin.

I think this is a good fight NATE VS WANDY

But I see Wandy winning. Nate can't fight when he is going backwards from the pressure, and Wandy has the best pressure in the division atm.

Calling out Wanderlei AND saying your going to knock him out? Probably not a very good idea.

First off, Nate will get aboslutely FOLDED against Wandy. Second off, once Nate gets hit by Wandy he aint gunna pursue Wandy, hes either gunna run away or try and lay n pray. And Third off, I dont think Wandy takes this fight, I can see Wandy fighting the loser of Belfort-Silva.

I don't think Marquardt is too happy with the UFC. He's taking a big risk calling out Silva, and I hope he isn't taking him lightly. Silva may no longer be in his prime, but he's still very dangerous.

Easy to call out a big named opponent who has gone 2-5 over the last 4+years....why doesn't he call out Leben if he wants someone to stay in the pockiet and bang it out with him....oh because he thinks Wand is an easy KO meal ticket for his highlight real....I hope it bites him in the ass!
