Michael Bisping's bout agreement was signed the moment Jorge Rivera (18-7 MMA, 8-5 UFC) called him out.

Bisping (20-3 MMA, 10-3 UFC) said there was no other choice than to say yes, even if Rivera wasn't in his crosshairs.

"I had to take the fight just to shut him up," he today told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com).

As MMAjunkie.com earlier reported, the two will meet at UFC 127, which takes place Feb. 27 at the Acer Arena in Sydney. Bisping in February co-headlined the promotion's first trip Down Under at UFC 110 and fell short on points to Wanderlei Silva.

I gotta go with Bisping, he's a huge step up in competition for Rivera and has the all around game to win the fight any way that he can.

I still can't believe that a month after Dana says Bisping will fight a top 10 opponent, he's fighting Rivera

I sooooooo hope Jorge ko's this d-b in the 1st rd. Not only would it be great to see it would be a big step in each man's career in opposite directions (the directions I'd rather see them go :) )

Good luck Bisping...

I dont think circling and jabbing for three rounds is gonna teach anyone a lesson.

I really think the only way this fight doesn't go the distance is if Jorge can clinch him up and get the KO.
