Apparently being "Immortal" is not a guarantee of being in UFC forever. According to ESPN's Jon Anik on the latest episode of MMA live, Matt Brown is the latest fighter to be cut by UFC. Brown has lost his last 3 fights, all by submission.

He's a good striker and an exciting fighter, his ground game is weak though. I thought he could have won that last fight and I don't think he tried hard enough to get out of the guillotine. I think we'll see him back down the road.

The problem with Matt Brown is that he has very weak ground defense, and he fights in a division that is deep with first class wrestlers, I don't see him ever being back on the big stage unless he develops a ground game and defeats a couple big names. I think he'll end up in Strikeforce, he'll be a star in Strikeforce, with plenty of great match-ups.

Even though he clearly should be cut. Subbed 3 times in a row, with an 11-10 MMA record..... I'm still pissed with Harris being cut, and the trend thats starting to become evident with UFC cuts....

There comes a time to understand that if you fight in the UFC that you are expected to be the best....exciting is a must as well, this is a very fine line that all the fighters must walk however nothing can replace the big Ws.

Once a year might be better in Strikeforce then fighting a couple times a year in a smaller org. I'd rather see him in Strikeforce where at least the competition is decent than somewhere where he will just be beating cans.
