Although he has gone from top contender to 3 losses in a row, including last night at UFC 123, Dana White says Tyson Griffin will not be cut. White knows MMA judging has its problems and continually cautions fighters not to leave their fate in the officials' hands, but he's adamant Griffin got a raw deal. "Tyson Griffin got [expletive] big time tonight," White said. The bout was far from a barnburner, and both fighters continually stalled working for takedowns. But Griffin appeared the aggressor despite the judges' 29-28, 27-30 and 29-28 scores in his opponent's favor (his opponent being Nik Lentz). Prior to his recent three-fight skid, which also include a split-decision defeat to top contender Evan Dunham and a flash knockout to Takanori Gomi, Griffin went 7-2 in his first nine UFC fights and picked up five "Fight of the Night" bonuses and a "Submission of the Night" award.

Thought this was actually pretty obvious.

I knew without even seeing this that he probably got screwed. I don't know what it is about Nik Lentz, but the judges seem to have no idea what to do with his fights.

It's the point system. It's already screwed up, and even more so when you add in wrestlers. I didn't watch the fight, so I really can't say who the winner is, but I'm glad Griffin is staying. He's exciting, and he may just need someone low level to even him mentally and give his confidence a boost. As for Lentz, I think he should fight Joe Lauzon.

i like griffin. hes on a losing streak but i think he could get back to where he was before if he gets a few wins and reworks his training camps.

In what fight did Tyson Griffin wrestle?

your right, i guess tyson is not a grappler, I thought Tyson used to take people down b4, I must be confusing him with Uriah Faber or someone else.

tyson wrestled alot VS guida another fight that could have went either way...
I thought griffin clearly won ( I was unsure on rampage Machida)

would adding 2 more judges help?? 5 instead of 3?

sometimes I think the judges are not watching the ame fight.

File this under "friggin' duh" perhaps, but I expect he'll try dropping to 145. Chad Mendes, Mark Hominick and Josh Grispi seem to be the top contenders, at the moment. If not one of those three, Griffin could take on Leonard Garcia, Diego Nunes, or Cub Swanson.

5 judges would fix things. the judging system is starting to be confusing,

especially when the guy on the bottom does better,

and or the guy who's taken down, bounces right back up,

or pulling off a guilitine while your being tackled.
these issues need some thought as well as having 5 judges, cause the point system is unfair. takedowns should be worth 5 kicks or 1 cllean punch imo.
