It is a good decision, the way he went down in recent fights was kind of embarrassing the 1st ko became his signature. he is a very technically sound guy and I think is better off teaching young mixed martial artists than actually fighting.

No biggie , you won't be missed

Yeah, homie.. when you muster up the sack to step in the cage against UFC level competition you make sure to let us all know and post the video while you're at it. Classy

Much respect to Goulet. Anybody who makes it to the level he did more than deserves the respect of MMA fans.

Always good to see athletes knowing when it's time to hang it up. Respect to him for fighting, which is something I don't think I could ever do. I'm a puss, I can't fight because I can't stand getting hit in the face, this guy on the other hand made a living out of it.

As someone said before, he had the talent, for sure. A lot of fighters can use this as a model.

Who knows if it was the eye or the chin? Maybe he just couldn't string it all together. Either way, doesn't matter, he's made a decision on what he believes to be the best for himself and his family. At a time when so many fighters are pressing the bounds of what their bodies can/should take, I applaud something like this.

I know we poke fun at Goulet on this site, but it takes a lot of courage to admit when you don't have it in you to do the sport anymore. Regardless of the reason. Some athletes can't hang it up and drag things out beyond a ridiculous point, *coughFavrecough,* but Goulet did this as classy as an individual could. He did it with little to no fanfare or bravado. He mere came out and just said, I'm hanging them up.

to you Goulet and wish you the best in all future endeavors.

I hope just because he doesnt fight anymore he wont stop the crazy hair dying antics up.

Much respect Goulet!

prozacnation1978, you've been here way too long and have made way too many good posts to throw your account in the trash because of this. Come on man, use your head.

I think this falls on deaf ears, or would it be blind eyes? I don't think the guy reads anything else anyone posts. Not sure he's ever made a rebuttal.

Yea, prozacnation posts in pretty much every topic on these boards. He's a pretty concistent poster, and actually makes good points, however, I don't think I've ever seen him post twice in a topic before. I think he just has his say then leaves never to return again. I'm not even sure he's aware of how many peopl he upset.

I've never understood the point of posting without the intent of having a discussion, or possibly having a discussion about something.. I know sometimes you just have something to say, and that's it, but to do it consistently is just strange to me. To each his own I guess.
