It seems to be a fight that just about everybody wants to see, and with the right factors in place it’s a fight that Strikeforce is interested in promoting. According to Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker, the higher-ups at the promotion have discussed pitting welterweight champion Nick Diaz in a possible catchweight fight against Jason Miller at some point in 2011. Coker admits that the fight between Miller and Diaz seems like a natural fit, but not without some extra handlers getting involved first. “You have to look at it from all different angles,” Coker said about Mayhem vs. Diaz. “Would it be a fun fight to promote? Sure. I think we should wait until the beginning of the year, and let’s have another conversation on that because with Miller and Diaz I just couldn’t imagine the extra security that I’d probably need to get to make that fight happen.” Coker did point to the fact that Diaz’s next fight would likely not be in the welterweight division, as Strikeforce sorts out who exactly would be the next challenger for his 170-pound belt. Coker also added they won't talk about Diaz's next fight until next year and if MIller doesn't get the Diaz fight he could get a potential rubber match with either Ronaldo Souza or Tim Kennedy instead.

Coker needs to make this fight happen. His organization is losing credibility with every Herschal Walker or Bobby Lashley driven fight. Let the pros go in and do their thing.

i think miller has been very unappreciated by strikeforce. he puts asses in seats and hes, IMO, top 5 in strikeforce. why let miller keep fighting guys like sakuraba when he should be fighting diaz.

I would pick Diaz in a fight with Miller, because he looks Tougher at 185, and Diaz has the bjj and boxing advantage imo.

Diaz has more challenging and exciting fights at 185.
Daley and Tyron are the only fights at 170 for Diaz.

The extra security thing is ridiculous. It reminds me of when Dana said that they'd need two refs to officiate the match between Shane Carwin and Brock Lesnar. Neither is true. Both are intended to hype the fight. And both make the sport look bad.

With the UFC expanding their company in both weight classes and international viewers/talent I really think SF needs to do something to even stay at the #3 spot on the market. (Dream being #2 even though they may go under)
