The fight both welterweights wanted appears it'll come to fruition. That would be Carlos Condit vs. Chris Lytle, which could happen at an unannounced UFC event in February. There were initial reports it would happen at UFC 126, but Condit's agent has confirmed those reports as false and clarified that the February event it happens at will not be 126. At least one fighter has reportedly been approached about the fight, but no paperwork is done and even verbal agreements may not be in place, so stay tuned.

Great matchmaking IMO. Lytle has all the skills for a push at the title but he has always wanted to put on exiting fights and that has harmed his record, if he wins this people will start taking note. If Condit wins it's another very good win against an always game opponent and does push further forward. Should be a great fight as well

Makes no sense. He passes on Fitch because of timing, Feb, only to take a fight against Lytle in Feb? Maybe he needs less time to prepare for Lytle but that doesn't feel right.

What's up with the WW division?

I would rather see Fitch vs Condit, and Ellenberger vs Lytle...

I honestly think that makes much more sense, but we get Fitch/Ellenberger and Lytle/Condit.

I'm seriously hoping Lytle shocks everyone by beating Condit. I don't care how he does it. Condit's the better fighter on paper, one would think, but I think Lytle's on a tear right now. Maybe I'm wrong, but I think this is Lytle's chance to really work his way towards a genuine title shot, or at teh very least, have people put him in the WW top ten for a change.

I see Condit winning a close split decision. I have a feeling they will both be happy to stand and trade, with Condit winning due to more technical striking and more gas in his tank come late round 2 and 3. If anyone goes for a takedown, I think Lytle will be first. I love both of these guys though, so whoever wins is fine with me!

finally Lytle gets a legit opponent. Should make for a very exciting fight. I can't wait. Hopefully Lytle can pull of the upset.

10" reach disadvantage for Lytle. But he also has the way better hands. Condit would be smart to kick alot and work takedowns sporadically. Interesting fight, i can see both winning it.
